The Muse headband was one of the first tools I ordered when I opened my private practice. I wanted to have something to offer my clients when we discussed mindfulness and meditation practice. Many times when I talk about a meditation practice with clients, they will respond with “I’ve tried and I cant’ do it”. With the Muse headband, I can offer them another tool that they can use to give meditation a try again. I allow them to take home so that they can work on the practice between sessions. Usually, after a week of practice clients will report that they are getting better at being mindful and that they have increased their time in a calm state.
So how does the headband work? Here is a video that can explain it better than I can.
This is a pretty cool tool, especially for those clients that enjoy technology. I have found that teens especially enjoy using it. Definitely something you can offer your clients that other
therapists don’t have.
